UK Standard Visitor Visa

United Kingdom Tourist Visa for travellers from Delhi

The UK Standard Visitor Visa allows you to travel to the United Kingdom for tourism, to visit family and friends, or for short business or leisure trips — typically for up to six months.

The UK now issues visitor visas as a digital eVisa — there is no vignette sticker placed in your passport. Visit visas are also available for different validity periods, from a single 6-month visit to long-term visas valid for 2, 5 or 10 years, each allowing stays of up to six months per visit.

At Visaxpress, we provide document-preparation and administrative support to help you organise your supporting documents and prepare your UK Standard Visitor Visa application in line with official UKVI requirements. We do not provide UK immigration advice.

How we support your Tourist Visa application

1

Requirement Overview

We walk you through the general requirements and the supporting documents typically expected for a Standard Visitor Visa, so you know exactly what to gather.

2

Document Preparation

Collect supporting materials: passport, photos, proof of funds, travel itinerary, and ties to your home country.

3

Online Application Support & Review

The application is completed on the official UK government (UKVI) portal. We help you organise your documents and review them for accuracy and consistency before you submit.

Processing times can vary depending on your circumstances, the volume of applications received, and the completeness of your documentation. Standard Visitor Visa applications from India are often decided within a few weeks. To avoid delays, apply well in advance and ensure your forms and supporting documents are accurate and up to date.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long can I stay in the UK on a Standard Visitor Visa?

Typically up to six months per visit, subject to the decision of UK Border Force at the port of entry.

Can I work or study on a Standard Visitor Visa?

No. It does not permit employment or long-term study. You would need the appropriate visa for those purposes.

How long does processing take?

Processing times vary; standard visitor visa applications from India are often decided within a few weeks, but you should apply well in advance of travel.

Will I get a visa sticker in my passport?

No. The UK has moved to a digital immigration system. Standard Visitor Visas are now issued as an eVisa linked to your UKVI account — there is no vignette sticker placed in your passport. Your passport is returned to you at the Visa Application Centre, and you view and share your status online through your UKVI account when travelling.

How long is the visa valid, and how much does it cost?

You can apply for a 6-month visit visa or a long-term visit visa valid for 2, 5 or 10 years. Long-term visas allow multiple visits, but each stay is limited to a maximum of six months. Government fees differ by validity — see the government fees note above. All fees are set by, and paid directly to, the UK government and are separate from our service fees.

Does Visaxpress guarantee my visa?

No. Visa decisions are made solely by UKVI. We provide document-preparation and administrative support to help you present an accurate, complete application, and we do not provide UK immigration advice.
